You’re Invited... to be our Marketing Partner in 2012! Last year, millions of dollars were spent on weddings and special events in Delaware. How much of it came into your business?

Our beach areas are currently being heavily promoted as destination sites for weddings, civil unions, events and meetings. And according to local officials, there are over 2,000 weddings booked in 2012, in Sussex County, alone.

Then, a study from the Williams Institute estimates that an additional 750 same-sex couples will form a Delaware Civil Union in the next 3 years. While, according to the Knot, the average American wedding costs over $25,000, let’s all do the math... that's $50 million in retail sales and services revenue up for grabs next year.

At 50 guests per wedding (a low estimate), over 100,000 people will visit the area and will spend money on accommodations, shopping, dining and recreational activities, while they're in town. Who knows, afterwards, they may just want to make Delaware their new home!

This year, join us and target wedding couples and event planners by advertising in Delaware Beach Weddings. -Carol Fezuk, Managing Editor
